Spenard Alaska F.O.E. Bingo & Dart Game Sticker

About:
This sticker reads “F.O.E BINGO 8 P.M. Thursday & SAT. DART GAME 2415 SPENARD RD. SPENARD, ALASKA”. This coin is collectible for those who collected stickered dollars by state. Most collectors want a coin from each state if they can get them. I really hate how bad the image looks. The gold sticker reflects the light and make a good picture almost impossible. This coin looks nothing like the picture. The sticker is in perfect condition and is a bright gold sticker with green text. This coin can be found on auction sites and coin shows. I would recommend waiting for a really nice sticker if you are looking to buy one.

History:
Spenard Alaska is a neighborhood located just outside of Anchorage Alaska. This sticker was created by the Fraternal Order of Eagles (F.O.E) in Spenard. This most likely originates from the 1950s.

Silver Dollar Bar at the Wagon Wheel Lodge

About:
This sticker reads: “THE SILVER DOLLAR BAR AT THE WAGON WHEEL LODGE ROCKTON, ILLINOIS”. I have this sticker on both a Morgan and Peace dollar. These coins can be found on Ebay and coin shows, so unless you just have to have it then wait for a sticker that is of good quality. The coins shown here are a Peace dollar and Morgan. I believe these coins were a souvenir pieces and probably dates from the 1950s.

History:
The Wagon Wheel Lodge opened by Walt Williamson in 1936. He had the 240 room lodge built from old bridge timbers and telephone poles. The lodge had 240 rooms and 4 furnished apartments. It included 4 dining rooms, 4 cocktail lounges, golf course and year round swimming pool. There was also indoor ice skating and riding stables. The lodge was open the entire year.

Lake of The Ozarks Silver Anniversary Sticker

About:
This coin reads “1931 – 1956 Lake of the Ozarks”. On the coin there is a silver flag pole and flag with contains the “25th” with the words “Silver Anniversary” over the top. I have not seen another one of these coins, but my feeling is that there are more out there. Do you have one of these coins? I would love to hear about it.

History:
In August of 1929 the construction of the 2,543 foot Bagnell Dam was started. The construction of the Dam took less than 2 years to complete, and was finished in April of 1931. The Bagnell Dam created the Lake of the Ozarks, which at the time was the largest man made lake in the world. This stickered coin was created as a commemorative piece in 1956 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the construction of Bagnell Dam.

Margo’s Buckeye Roundup Sticker

About:
This coin is a common stickered dollar, but is one that most collectors want in their collection. I’ve seen these on both Peace and Morgan dollars. The sticker reads: “Margo’s Buckeye Roundup 2384 Lake BLVD.”, which is written in red lettering on a transparent sticker. When buying one of these I would recommend waiting to find one that has a sticker in good condition. It also helps to find a coin that does not have much wear. The coin below meets both of those conditions.
Note: One reason that most collectors like this sticker is because it is transparent. Only a small percentage of stickered dollars had transparent stickers.

History:
When I first purchased this coin I assumed it was a coin from Ohio, but after a few dead ends I found that this coin was from a Cardroom in Reading California. Margo’s Buckeye Roundup closed in 1966.

1965 Lake Placid N.Y. Lions Silver Dollar Sticker

About:
This coin reads “Lake Placid, N.Y. in ’65”, and contains the Lions International logo all in red. These dollars come up at auction and coin shows and are not considered rare. I’ve personally seen a few of these coin and they all contain the white strip running over the top of the Lions International logo.
Because this coin contains a graphic it is considered to be more desirable. It would be attractive to both stickered dollar collectors and those who collect Lions memorabilia.

History:
I am currently requesting information from the Lake Placid Loins.

Idaho Ghost Town Hollywood Robbie Silver Dollar

About:
This sticker is on a peace dollar and reads “Souvenir of IDAHO GHOST TOWN – U.S. 30”. It also has an ape with the words Hollywood Robbie across the overalls. This is really a great coin and I would be very surprised to find that there are more than a few of the in existence. The rarity of this coin mixed with the great graphics on the sticker makes this coin extremely desirable. I would personally put the value of this coin at over $350. I believe the coin would be worth more if the history of this coin could be tracked down.

History:
I have done a ton of research on this stickered coin, and have not been able to find any useful information. I have even researched all the Ghost Towns along U.S 30, which in now part of Interstate 86 in Idaho. There are no Ghost Towns that stick out. As well I have not been able to uncover any information on Hollywood Robbie.

Evangeline Maid Bread Company Payroll Silver Dollar

About:
The Evangeline Maid Stickered Dollar is somewhat unique in that the company used a stamp sheet for their sticker. I cannot right now recall any other stickered dollars containing a stamp. This fact alone makes the coin desirable. As well I have only seen a couple of these dollars available for sale. The sticker reads “Your Evangeline Maid Payroll in Action”. It is too bad this sticker does not contain the iconic Evangeline Maid which is located on every loaf of Evangeline Maid bread.

History:
The Evangeline Maid Bakery was founded in 1919, and still exists today in Lafayette Parish Louisiana. Evangeline Maid is now owned by Flowers Food, but the brand still exists today. This coin was most likely created in the 1950s as a way to show residents how much money the bakery brought into the community.

Fort Findlay Sesquicentennial Silver Dollar

About:
The gold sticker on this Peace Dollar reads “Fort Findlay Sesquicentennial Findlay – Hancock County, Ohio” with 1812- 1962 under the image of the fort. The gold sticker is in good condition. The reflective sticker caught the light while scanning and resulted in a blurry image. When viewed in person the image is quite nice and only has one small wear mark on the ‘F’ in the word Findlay. While I am sure others exists this is the only coin I have seen with this sticker.

History:
In 1962 the town of Findlay Ohio celebrated its Sesquicentennial (150th) anniversary. The town of Findlay was named after Forth Findlay which was established during the war of 1812 by Colonel James Findlay. The original Fort is gone and now the site is marked by a sign giving the history. These coins were produced to mark that event. Given the current size of Findlay I would think that at the most only a few hundred of these coins would have been created.

Atlantic City Dude Ranch Silver Dollar Sticker

About:
These coins pop up in coin shows and auctions from time to time. The fun and unique boot sticker bumps up the premium on this coin. While not extremely rare this is a coin that collectors really want to have in their collection. The coin and sticker below are in extremely good condition with no wear marks on the sticker.

History:
This stickered Peace Dollar is from the Dude Ranch, which was located in Atlantic City during the 1940’s and 1950’s. It was located on the corner of Boardwalk and Connecticut Avenue. The Dude Ranch contained a very large dance floor and bar that they advertised as the largest. They also served food, but primarily were a bar with a large dance floor. The Dude Ranch was themed in a country western style. This coin was most likely created as a souvenir during the late 1950s.

Utah Bee Hive State Silver Dollar

About:
The image below does not do the sticker justice. The gold foil reflected the light when the coin was scanned and gave it a hazy look in the image. I have personally only seen two of these coins. It is interesting that the word Beehive is made into two words “BEE HIVE” on the coin.
The small sticker size brings down the value of this coin. I would have loved to see this sticker fill the whole coin with a nice beehive image. Either way this is a rare stickered coin and a nice to have in my collection.

History:
In 1959 Utahans voted to make the Beehive the official state emblem. This coin would have been stickered to celebrate that event. It was most likely sold as a souvenir piece to tourist and those excited about the Beehive being adopted.
